Ginseng is a Food item that can be eaten or used in Cooking. It is a type of plant ingredient collected from foraging when the Chemist's Dog unlocks the digging ability.

Ginseng can only be obtained after completing the first and only bar of Friendship with the Chemist's Dog, where he unlocks the digging ability. The dog will automatically start digging them up as soon as the player gets close to a spot where it is located. Ginseng is dug up from certain sandy patches found in the Barren Wasteland in groups of 2, specifically in the following areas:
- Midway along the passage to top-left corner where the Barren Chasm is found
- Underneath the pointed rock outcroppings that are over the passage leading to the southmost area
